Let Martin Golan
improve your writing
Martin Golan works as a writing coach with private students to help them in writing fiction, memoir, poetry, or any kind of writing . He has unique credentials that set him apart from others in the field.
He is the author of a well-received novel and a collection of short stories, with a book of poetry due out next year, and has had numerous poems, stories, and essays in magazines. He has worked most of his life as a journalist, a feature writer and reporter for daily newspapers, and lastly as a reporter and then editor at Reuters in New York City. At Reuters, he wrote a weekly column on style and usage that was required reading for journalists at the legendary international news agency.
On many jobs, he often trained new hires, which made use of his people skills and ability to grasp what a newcomer needed, without condescension or braggadocio. In short, he knows how to listen.
He will work with you to realize whatever your writing ambitions are, often spending much of the first session seeing where you want to go and what you want to do. He can also advise you on the route to getting published, the mundane nitty-gritty that all writers must know and nearly all dislike (as he does), the stuff you thought you’d never have to think about.
